Mother, two daughters found dead in Ipoh house

A WOMAN and her two daughters were found dead in a house in Bandar Baru Tambun, Ipoh, Perak, last night.

Ipoh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Najib Hamzah, said police received information about the incident at around 9.10 pm.

According to him, initial investigations found that the three victims, a 46-year-old woman and her two daughters, aged 12 and 11 respectively, were found unconscious in a room in the house.

“A container believed to contain charcoal burning residue was also found in the room.

“Initial checks by the police Forensic Team did not find any injuries or criminal elements on the bodies,” he said.

He said the case was classified as sudden death (SDR).

“However, investigations are still ongoing to identify the exact cause of the incident, while a post-mortem is scheduled today to complete the investigation,” he said.

Muhammad Najib advised the public not to speculate or spread unverified information until the investigation is complete. – July 31, 2026
