PETALING JAYA: Three siblings were killed after the motorcycle they were travelling on collided with a lorry along Jalan Parit Haji Sirat, Pontian, this morning.
The victims were two brothers, aged 11 and 18, and their eight-year-old sister.
The accident occurred at about 7am, according to Pontian police chief Supt Hadzrat Hussien Mion Hussain, who confirmed the incident.
He said police were still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and would issue a statement later.
The siblings were believed to have been travelling to school when the accident occurred.
The crash happened on the first day of a two-day closure of schools across Johor, which was ordered following a deterioration in air quality caused by haze.
Photographs and videos from the scene have since circulated widely on social media. Members of the public are advised against sharing graphic images or footage of the victims.
