There’s a time and place for everything, especially when recording content for social media.

A Malaysian man recently started a TikTok live session at the scene of an accident and was joined by over 5,000 viewers. In the viral recording, a motorcycle rider and his passenger were reprimanded by a police officer, who told them off for invading the accident scene without permission.

“Are you a news reporter or a journalist? No, right? If you don’t have the rights as a reporter, you’re not qualified to do a live broadcast. Don’t try to gain sympathy or views for someone who has passed away!”

The rider and the passenger could only nod while they listened to the Abang Polis telling them off.

“What do you understand about the ethics of reporting? Do you have qualifications as a reporter? What’s so fun about doing this live broadcast?!” the Abang Polis said.

Two other police officers were also seen approaching the riders as the Abang Polis “educated” the pair.

At the same time, the Abang Polis also related their actions to the Mat Rempits.

“You’re just like the Mat Rempits who do live video sessions at night on the road!”

The pair did not utter a single word, except to tell the frustrated Abang Police that they understood him. The audience who joined the live video also reacted with laughing emojis.

The live video, which took an unexpected turn is currently circulating on social media.

Hopefully, this will serve as a reminder to everyone NOT to record videos as they please, especially when the area is restricted by authorities.
