VIENNA: A German motorcyclist miraculously survived a fall into a deep mountain ravine in Austria with only minor injuries, police said on Saturday, reported German news agency (dpa).

The 53-year-old woman and her partner were riding their motorcycles near Au in the country's western Vorarlberg region on Friday when the incident happened at a bend in the road.

The rider slipped while traversing a bridge and was thrown 10 metres down an embankment and over the edge of a 45-metre-deep ravine. Her companion tried to rescue her before both were brought to safety by a mountain rescue team using a crane.
