Kota Kinabalu: The Lions Clubs International District 308-A2 and the Sabah Youth Council (SYC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to foster youth development and community service in Sabah.

This strategic partnership aims to empower young people through various initiatives under the Leo programme, amplifying efforts to provide significant opportunities for youth leadership and engagement.

With over 90 Leo Clubs in Sabah and a membership exceeding 3,500 youths, this collaboration will enhance the scope and impact of youth programmes, driving positive change and community service.

The coordination for Lions Clubs International District 308-A2 will be led by District Governor Kapitan Ronny Hiew and assisted by Region Chairperson Designate Rizawani Fiona Heng throughout the fiscal year 2024/2025.

The MoU was signed between SYC President Abqaree Fawwaz Abekan and Ronny.

The signing was witnessed by 1st Vice District Governor Elect Dato’ Winnie Lee, Cabinet Secretary 2 Datuk Margaret Lim, Rizawani and District Chairperson Leo Afsah Jumrin.

This collaboration signifies a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of Sabah’s youth, promoting leadership, and encouraging active participation in community service.

By leveraging the strengths of both organizations, this partnership promises to create a more vibrant, empowered, and service-oriented youth community in Sabah.
