- Keepers at Edinburgh Zoo have welcomed three new born capybara pups, born overnight on Wednesday to parents Luna and Rodney.
- The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland confirmed the triplets are doing well, with a health check planned in the coming weeks to determine their genders and names.
- The new arrivals come just months after the birth of Bru in May, who was the first capybara born in Scotland for 18 years and gained viral fame.
- Zoo staff noted that Bru is currently adjusting to no longer being the centre of attention following the birth of his siblings.
- Capybaras are the world's largest rodents, with animal care staff humorously describing the social dynamics of the zoo's herd as resembling a soap opera.
