KUCHING: Julau MP Larry Sng (pic) has proposed that Sarawakian Chinese be granted Bumiputera status, citing their deep historical and cultural ties to the state, according to his Facebook post on Wednesday.
He argued that many Sarawakian Chinese have ancestral roots spanning generations and have contributed significantly to the state’s development.
Sng emphasised that recognising them as Bumiputera would provide fairer access to economic opportunities and government assistance.
He urged the federal and state governments to consider this proposal as part of efforts to promote inclusivity and equal rights.
