LABUAN: Labuan Member of Parliament, Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman, called for halt in the demolition of squatters in Kg Gersik /Saguking area for now and the settlers be given until March next year to find alternative homes.
He suggested this after hearing the plight of about 700 families at a meeting with them.
According to Suhaili, about 3,000 would be made homeless if these settlers were not given time to relocate into proper houses.
He also said among those affected would be Malaysian citizens who were registered voters and schooling children.
