PAPAR: The government needs to establish a long-term plan involving community security along the Sarawak-Kalimantan border following the opening of Indonesia’s new capital in East Kalimantan, according to Papar Member of Parliament Ahmad Hassan.
He said it is necessary because Borneo is about to become the focus in the archipelago region that sees economic activity becoming more active, and at the same time, requires a different approach involving security control.
He said although Malaysia and Indonesia have shown commitment in the effort, the government should always be proactive in terms of more constructive early planning.
