Kota Kinabalu: MP Datuk Shahelmey Yahya is concerned about various issues in his Putatan constituency, thus calling for more focus to resolve the issues.
During the debate on the 2024 Budget, he said the issues plaguing Putatan included housing, water supply, education and safety.
On education, Shahelmey called on the Education Minister to help speed up the rebuilding of SMK Pulau Gaya and SK Pulau Gaya which were damaged during a storm in November last year. Both schools are under the Putatan constituency.
“To reduce congestion in schools around Putatan, it is important for the Education Ministry to consider building a secondary school in Lok Kawi, which is the proposed SMK Lok Kawi,” said Shahelmey.
