LABUAN: Member of Parliament Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Dr Zaliha Mustafa is making “the right move” in disbanding the immigration checks at ferry terminals here for smother flow of traffic and boost tourism.
Suhaili said this in reference to the Minister’s decision to hold talks with the Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor to review the need for immigration controls at the terminals.
Advertisement“Since these measures were implemented in November 2022, they contributed to the downtrend in tourism as there were reports of many who were deterred and skipped Labuan. The checks neither served a big purpose for Sabah,” said Suhaili.
He was glad that the Minister had suggested a call for review of the measure.
