SHAH ALAM, Jan 2 — Klang Municipal Council (MPK) President Datin Paduka Noraini Roslan has been appointed as the local authority’s mayor, effective today.
The Selangor State Secretary’s Office said State Secretary Datuk Setia Haris Kasim presented her letter of appointment and credentials.
“Congratulations and best wishes on your duty,” it said in a Facebook post today.
Formerly Subang Jaya mayor, Noraini also served as chairman of the then-Kuala Selangor District Council (now a municipality) from 2011 to 2017.
The master’s degree holder in Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina, United States, also served as the head of the urban planning department at MPK from 1989 to 2010, and at the Petaling Jaya City Council from 2010 to 2011.
