Junior Firpo says he's happy to be patient and wait for his chance at Barcelona.
The summer arrival from Real Betis recognises he currently is understudy to Spain fullback Jordi Alba.
He told Mundo Deportivo: "You never give up being a starter, but you cannot expect a place as soon as you arrive. I work daily and I strive to be ready when the coach tells me when I'll play.
"In the short time that I have been in the Primera I think I have done quite well. It is true that Jordi, who is 30 years old and will turn 31, is the starter, the club believes it and I believe it too, I am more a long-term project. I want to be prepared for when the coach decides to play me, but without being arrogant, I come to fight to play and I want to make it difficult for Jordi."
