KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 - Funding challenges facing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) and Malaysia's media freedom ranking will be among the key issues raised during the Minister's Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat today.
According to the Order Paper published on Parliament's official website, Ipoh Timor MP Lee Chuan How will ask the Prime Minister whether the MADANI government is aware of growing concerns among MSME entrepreneurs over difficulties in securing financing to sustain their businesses.
Pasir Mas MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari will also seek an explanation from the Prime Minister on Malaysia's drop to 95th place in the 2026 World Press Freedom Index, from 88th last year, and ask what comprehensive measures the government is taking to safeguard media freedom.
The session, which begins at 10am, will also see Sri Gading MP Aminolhuda Hassan asking if the government plans to introduce a Senior Citizens-Friendly Fund to help mosques and suraus install facilities such as wheelchair ramps and accessible toilets for elderly worshippers.
Later in the sitting, the Dewan Rakyat is scheduled to debate the 2024 Annual Report and Financial Statement of the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia.
The House will then resume debate on the Constitution (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 2026, which seeks to amend the Federal Constitution to separate the roles of the Attorney-General and the Public Prosecutor.
