PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional will function as a check and balance on government, says its chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
In a statement, Muhyiddin also congratulated Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on his appointment as prime minister.
In a press conference held yesterday, Muhyiddin challenged Anwar to prove that he had the majority support of lawmakers to form a government, as well as the number of statutory declarations he had obtained.
