Following the rejection of Malay voters in the State Election (PRN) in six states towards Pakatan Harapan (PH), Perikatan Nasional (PN) demanded Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his deputy, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi resign immediately.

According to Harian Metro, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, head of the Perikatan Nasional, stated that the PN's success in Malay majority seats and mixed districts demonstrates the widespread rejection of Malays and non-Malays against the unstable political partnership and government unity led by Anwar Ibrahim and Zahid Hamidi.

"It is true that this state election is a referendum on the people's rejection of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition government. Anwar Ibrahim and Zahid Hamidi, who lead this coalition, must take moral responsibility by resigning as Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister immediately," he stated at a press conference held at Concorde Hotel.

Muhyiddin stated that the PN respects the vote of the voters and accepts the election results with an open heart.

"I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of the party machinery, all of the Perikatan Nasional voters, officers of the Malaysian Election Commission, the Royal Malaysian Police, security officers, and all parties involved in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) General Election," he said.

According to Harian Metro, the success in the State Election (PRN) of 146 seats in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) by defending Kelantan, Kedah, and Terengganu with a significant victory demonstrates the strong support of Malay voters for Perikatan Nasional (PN).

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, chairman of the Perikatan Nasional, said, “PN congratulates the 146 candidates who won this election, which is an encouraging achievement for the PN, which contested 245 seats.”
