Ally Mukhriz welcomes her first child, baby boy Eden Zakaria, who becomes Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s first great-grandchild
PETALING JAYA: Ally Mukhriz, the daughter of Pejuang president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, has welcomed her first child, a baby boy named Eden Zakaria Ezran Cheah, on Sunday.
The birth of Eden Zakaria, who weighed 2.9kg, makes him the first great-grandchild of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.
Ally, whose full name is Meera Alyanna Mukhriz, shared the happy news on social media on Monday.
According to Ally, her and husband Ezran Daud Cheah’s first child was born at 8.48am.
“Ezran and I are happy to announce the birth of our baby boy, Eden Zakaria Ezran Cheah. Born 16.08.26 at 8.48am, weighing 2.9kg.
“Thank you everyone for sending your well wishes and we hope to share more soon,” she said in the post.
Ally’s mother, Tok Puan Norzieta Zakaria, also shared her joy, posting a heartfelt message to welcome her first grandchild.
In February, Ally announced her pregnancy after undergoing a lengthy fertility treatment journey, including in-vitro fertilisation (IVF).
Ally married Ezran Daud Cheah on Feb 20, 2020 and the couple have often shared their journey towards parenthood with their followers on social media.
Eden’s birth was met with congratulatory messages from family members, friends and followers, who flooded the couple’s social media comments with well wishes.
