On the family's podcast, Birgit Kammer said: If he renews with Real Madrid, he will make his coach (Carlo Ancelotti), his teammates and also Len (his son) and many others (fans) happy. But in the end, he is the one who should be happy, so he decides.
"(You) decide what you want to do and we will accept it, that's all. I wish it to end the way he wants from the bottom of his heart.
He is going to finish his career at the highest level and without worrying about injuries. I know it's a difficult decision to make and I hope he hasn't made it yet. What I want is to have a good summer vacation, have good camps and see him start his last season in Madrid."
