Music and community support came together during a relief mission for residents affected by the recent earthquake in Purok 14, Hikban Subdivision, Barangay Lagao, General Santos City.
Organized by CC6 Helping the Community and FunBingo, the initiative provided relief packs containing essential supplies to families continuing to recover from the effects of the earthquake. Beyond material assistance, the program also sought to offer encouragement to residents facing the challenges brought by the disaster.
A highlight of the event was a performance by Davao-based entertainer RK Kent Music, known as the “Budots King.” Invited by residents to perform, he brought music and entertainment to the community, turning the gathering into an occasion marked by dancing, laughter and applause.
One of the event’s most memorable moments came when an elderly woman using a walking cane joined fellow residents on the dance floor. She briefly set aside her cane and danced to the Budots music, drawing cheers and applause from those in attendance.
Organizers said the relief mission was intended not only to distribute aid but also to remind residents that they have support as they recover from the disaster. They emphasized the importance of unity, resilience and hope during difficult times.
CC6 Helping the Community and FunBingo also thanked the volunteers, donors, sponsors, partners and residents who participated in the initiative. The groups said they plan to continue supporting communities in need through future outreach efforts.
