KOTA KINABALU: Sepanggar MP Datuk Mustapha Sakmud has urged political leaders and the public who are able to do so to share their Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) RM100 cash aid with those in greater need.

He said the gesture complements the Madani government’s initiative announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and is now being reinforced at the State level.

Speaking at the MyKasih donation event at a supermarket here on Thursday, Mustapha explained that recipients could redeem the aid using their identity card and then pass it on to others who are struggling.

Among the recipients was 71-year-old Wong Kon Foh and his wife, who earn about RM200 monthly from collecting cans while raising two daughters with disabilities, and they expressed gratitude for the assistance.

Mustapha said the State Leadership Council had instructed elected representatives and party leaders to follow suit, adding that those in the M40 and T20 groups are also encouraged to share their resources for the benefit of the community.
