MANILA, Philippines — Comedian-host Vice Ganda has added another distinction to his long list of entertainment titles, with MVP Group Chairman Manny Pangilinan declaring him the “Queen of All Networks” as he formally joined forces with MediaQuest Holdings.
The partnership was announced Wednesday and is expected to give Vice Ganda opportunities to create content across MediaQuest’s television, digital and other platforms.
During the ceremony, Pangilinan, also known as MVP, highlighted Vice Ganda’s career and audience reach as he welcomed him to the MediaQuest family.
“You have built an exceptional career with your exceptional talents. So on your own, you built a distinctive brand, an audience that is not only nationwide but goes beyond the shores of the Philippines, which in a career that very few can really see and match,” Pangilinan said in his speech.
He then formally bestowed on Vice Ganda saying, “This event completes the elevation of Vice Ganda to the title, ‘Queen of All Networks.’”
Vice Ganda continues to be seen primarily on his longtime home network, ABS-CBN, as well as on GMA Network via the noontime show “It’s Showtime.” With the partnership, he is set to develop upcoming projects and content across TV5 and other MediaQuest platforms through his own production company.
According to Pangilinan, MediaQuest’s strength across multiple platforms could give the star a wider reach than traditional television alone, pointing to the group’s free-to-air, pay TV and streaming capabilities.
“Various platforms that we can build the scale and the reach that is beyond any of the TV networks. So we offer something with you, something that is bigger and better and different for Filipino media and entertainment,” he said.
For Vice Ganda, the partnership marks a new chapter after years of working in Philippine television and entertainment.
“I just want to say thank you, thank you very much for your trust, for believing in me, for believing that I can offer something to your group. And I'm so grateful and super excited to be able to unleash every ounce of creativity, hard work, and passion that's still left in my soul,” Vice Ganda said.
He added that despite spending years in television, he still believes he has more to offer, particularly with the additional platforms available through MediaQuest.
“I've been watching television every day for years, but I still believe that there's more, that there's still more to give, there's still more to unleash, and I'm glad that with the additional platforms that you have, I'll be able to be more free, and I'll be able to give more good services to the Philippines through the kind of entertainment that I'm offering,” he said.
He added that this has also reignited his excitement for his work.
“I started Showtime 16 years ago, so I’ve been working almost every day for the past 16 years. But that’s what I was afraid of — that one day I would wake up and feel like I was no longer excited. This partnership gives me so much excitement. It reignited the fire in me,” he said.
He explained that he welcomed the challenge of entering a new professional environment, saying that staying too comfortable could prevent an artist from pursuing greater achievements.
“I welcome that challenge because I believe comfortability is the enemy of achievement, right? It is the enemy of excellence. So I want to be in an environment where I’m not too comfortable, so I can push myself further and discover what I’m capable of giving,” Vice Ganda said.
Vice Ganda has yet to reveal the content and projects they plan to release within the year but teased audiences to expect a “pasabog (big surprise)” from the partnership.
“What do you want from me? What are you looking for? You need fun, you need laughter every day to make you through the day, you need to laugh, to escape every now and then. I will give that to you. With the help and support of MediaQuest,” he said.
