Due to overwhelming demand, My Chemical Romance has added a second concert in Malaysia after tickets for their first concert sold out in just minutes — here’s what you need to know.
After nearly two decades away from Malaysian shores, My Chemical Romance’s long-awaited return has sparked a frenzy of excitement — and controversy. The legendary emo rock band is officially adding a second concert in Malaysia following a sell-out of all 60,000 tickets for their initial show.
Fans were left frustrated and disappointed earlier this month when tickets for the 30 April 2026 concert at Bukit Jalil National Stadium were snapped up within minutes. Many encountered technical glitches, crashes, and overwhelming traffic on the ticketing platform, while scalpers capitalised on the chaos, reselling tickets at nearly twice their original prices. The backlash was swift and vocal, with social media flooded by criticism directed at organisers Hello Universe and the official ticketing platform, GoLive Asia.
However, hope has returned for thousands of disappointed fans. In response to the overwhelming demand — and following weeks of cryptic hints — Hello Universe has confirmed a second and final Malaysian show. Scheduled for 1 May 2026, just a day after the first, this marks a rare back-to-back performance by the band and cements Malaysia as the only country in Southeast Asia to receive two shows on the tour.
“You manifested hard and you have been heard Malaysia!” Hello Universe announced in an Instagram post. “Get ready for the one and only second show added for Southeast Asia! This is your last chance to be part of one of the biggest nights in emo rock.”

Fans eager to attend are urged to prepare in advance, given the overwhelming demand that crippled ticketing systems during the first round. Whether organisers will be better equipped this time remains to be seen — but expectations are certainly high.
The Southeast Asia leg of the My Chemical Romance tour begins on 18 April 2026 in South Korea, before continuing to Bangkok, Bulacan, and Singapore. The band will then play back-to-back nights in Malaysia on 30 April and 1 May, before concluding their regional tour in Indonesia in July.
For die-hard fans who missed out the first time, this second show represents a rare second chance to witness one of the most influential emo rock bands of the 2000s in a country that has waited 19 years for their return. Let’s just hope the servers can keep up.
