When a father discovered that his child's face was shattered and had injuries from a blunt object while retrieving his remains from the forensic unit at Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital (HPSF), his heart broke.

Nor Hasyim Tahir, 43, is the father of the late Noradriana, 11, who died early yesterday morning in a fire that also took the life of his in-laws. He said that his child's face was badly broken, but he didn't know why.

"I can confirm that blunt force trauma caused my child's face to be smashed. I'm not exactly sure why."

The physician stated that the patient died from a violent blow to the head rather than from the fire's effects, which were not very serious.

He remarked, "This is what saddened me when I viewed her remains yesterday afternoon," following her burial today at the Pagoh-based Kampung Paya Redan Islamic cemetery.

His in-laws, Mohamed Nor Mohamed Yasin, 82, and his wife, Ara Abdul Hamid, 76, perished in the fire that occurred at 1.30 am yesterday, destroying around 85% of their semi-wooden house.

Norazima Mohd Radhi, a 14-year-old grandchild, was hurt and was being treated at HPSF.
