A 17-year-old Orang Asli girl recently lost her mother, who breathed her last at the National Cancer Institute (IKN) in Putrajaya.

The girl had to face the experience alone while waiting for her father to come from Pekan, Pahang, to take her home.

However, she had no one to help her with, or to at least go through the tough moment with her when she had just lost her mother to the illness. Uncle Kentang decided to help in any way he could, and he offered his place for the girl to stay temporarily while her father made his way to her, according to Uncle Kentang’s Facebook post.

Uncle Kentang decided that getting her a hotel room was not a brilliant idea because she was all alone.

“In my house, my wife, my daughter, and my Indonesian maid can take care of her and prepare food for her.”

Only July 7, the indigenous girl followed Uncle Kentang home to her temporary shelter, where she was taken care of. The next morning, the family made her breakfast before bringing her to the IKN again, where the Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) said that they had dispatched its members from Pekan, Pahang, to help the girl handle her mother’s funeral, according to another post.

“I’ll help in any way I can,” Uncle Kentang mentioned in his Facebook post.

Uncle Kentang also thanked the social department of IKN for helping the girl during her tough times.
