Human rights lawyer and activist Siti Kasim has fiercely criticized Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, challenging their claims that Malaysian authorities do not exercise double standards in handling cases related to race, religion, and royalty (3R).

Her criticism follows recent developments that cast doubt on the government’s claim of impartiality. In pursuance of Saifuddin's admission of authorities closing one eye on 3R breaches involving PAS leaders, and religious figures accused of similar offenses have seemingly escaped scrutiny, she has raised concerns that authorities are selectively enforcing the law. In a fiery YouTube video titled Where Is the Integrity of Our Justice System?, Siti condemned the government for its reluctance to take action against controversial Islamic preachers.

“Madani is too cowardly to act against so-called religious speakers,” she said, referring to the unity government’s reluctance to hold influential figures accountable. She pointed out that while swift action was taken against an ERA FM deejay trio and even a street corn seller, politicians and preachers who claim to defend Islam appear to enjoy immunity from prosecution.

She particularly highlighted the case of Zamri Vinoth, who recently sparked controversy with comments deemed insulting to Hindu religious practices. Despite Facebook removing his post, he boldly re-posted it without consequence. According to Siti, this reflects the unchecked privilege enjoyed by individuals like Vinoth and others, including Ridhuan Tee, Firdaus Wong, Zakir Naik, and Syakir Nasoha, who have repeatedly made inflammatory remarks under the guise of comparative religion.

Beyond religious issues, Siti also took aim at law enforcement for their handling of the death of former deputy public prosecutor (DPP) Lim Ju Vynn. She expressed disbelief at how authorities quickly classified his case as a “sudden death” despite clear signs of foul play, including strangulation and bound limbs.

“This is absurd. How could the police dismiss foul play even before a post-mortem? The case took place in a security-tight office—where is the CCTV footage?” she questioned, drawing parallels to her own car bomb incident two years ago, which remains unsolved.

Expressing frustration, Siti called out the justice system for its lack of transparency and accountability. “If our police and Home Ministry continue with double standards, how can we trust them to govern this country?” she asked, urging Malaysians to demand better governance in the next general election.
