I Ate This Tau Fu Fah in the Car.. And Now I Cannot Move On
Okay, I'll tell you straight, the first time I tried Bean Factory’s Fall in Love Tau Fu Fah, it wasn’t even a proper moment. I didn’t sit down nicely. I didn’t take a photo. I didn’t even hold the bowl properly. Because why? I was eating inside the car. My friend tapau it for me, and I thought, “Okay lah, give it a try.” But the moment I put one spoon into my mouth, I literally looked at my friend, raised my eyebrow, and said, “Ehh…sedap eh.” That time, the seatbelt was still on tau. The tau fu fah stunned me for a good one second. Right there, I knew this one could not main-main. I must go and try it fresh from the shop. So the next time, I went to the shop with the same friend who started this dessert addiction.
At the Shop: Wah, So Cantik One
When the dessert arrived (okay lah, actually you have to self-service from the pick-up counter), I finally understood why my friend was so obsessed. And now, why the obsession has passed to me. The tau fu fah sat right in the centre, looking super soft and silky. Around it got purple rice, mini taro balls, red bean, and handmade taro paste. Then got two syrups also, one soya, one gula Melaka, so you can add your own sweetness level. Very fancy. Like, dessert got VIP treatment.
First Bite (Shop Version): Confirm Fall in Love
I tell you, eat inside the car, already fall in love. But eat fresh at the shop? Fall even deeper. The tau fu fah is damn smooth, like it just slips into your throat without asking permission. The taro balls are chewy-chewy and shiok. The red bean is warm and comforting. Everything mixed together, wah, pure happiness. Every bite goes from soft to chewy to creamy to sweet, and to repeat, of course. At that point, I was like, “Okay lah, I surrender. This dessert wins.”
Pistachio Shave Ice Also Join the Story
Of course, I ordered another dessert since already at the shop. Life is short, okay. The pistachio shave ice tasted like eating nutty green clouds, light, fluffy, and melts instantly. Not sweet, just nice. Very dangerous. Pair it with the tau fu fah? Perfect combo. Different flavour, different vibe, but somehow it works. One spoon tau fu fah, one spoon pistachio shave ice, confirm happy. 😌🍨
