Hannah Yeoh officially clocked in as the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) today (22 December). Despite helming a new ministerial portfolio, she reiterated that her love for the country’s athletes remains steadfast.
Earlier, Yeoh penned a farewell post and recapped her time in the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), saying that while her role has changed, her love for the athletes has not.

Yeoh shared images of her first town hall with the athletes in Bukit Jalil, which were taken three years ago, where they discussed welfare.
“I personally took notes of all their grievances, including the lack of opportunities to compete, insufficient food allowance overseas, no EPF and inability to secure a loan for vehicle and house purchases,” she stated.
The former KBS Minister believes that athletes perform better when they are happy. After the town hall, KBS implemented the required measures to address these concerns, aiming to boost performance, strengthen social protection for athletes, and reassess coaches’ salaries.

In another Instagram post, Yeoh shared a short clip of her time in KBS, saying that the three years of her bittersweet moments in KBS have become an experience that means a lot to her.
As Hannah stepped aside from the KBS, she left a heartfelt reminder to the athletes, reminding them to reach for greater heights.
“Soar higher, guys – for Malaysia. I will cover you in my prayers as you continue to inspire our nation with your performance. I now cheer you on from the sidelines as your supporter and fan, Hannah Yeoh.”
Deputy Minister of Federal Territories, Datuk Lo Su Fui, also officially clocked in for duty today.
