KUALA LUMPUR – Barisan Nasional candidate for Jeneri, Datuk Muhamad Khizri Abu Kassim has urged all candidates and supporters to campaign in a “gentlemanly” manner and not resort to “below the belt” antics.
In a ceramah, Khizri, who is facing Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, claimed there were those who were using derogatory words and were ridiculing his name by calling him “khinzir”, which means pig.
“I was shown a video where I saw this and was shocked why it had to go to such an extent. As a Muslim, such terms should not be used against not only me but anybody.
“I don’t want trouble with anyone, but please do not resort to such tactics and name-calling. I believe the voters will know best,” he said.
Khizri said he did not want to point fingers at anyone, but was disturbed why elements of dirty politics were creeping into the campaigning process.
“Let us campaign in a healthy, clean manner. I have a family, a father, and a mother who gave me a nice name. Let us respect and be good to each other, regardless of any political divide,” he added. – The Vibes, July 31, 2023
