Rachel shot up from her bed at 3.30 am sweating and shivering at the same time. She had a project due in two days time, and she still has many loose ends to tie up. The issues that she had to deal with seemed endless. This is an important project, if she does this well it may mean good news for her career.

"You need to hustle harder" she thought to herself, "you're not doing enough to meet the clients expectations"

Everybody else seems to either be racking up accomplishments, getting promoted or expanding their business and posting it on LinkedIn. Everybody seemed to be doing well, everybody except her. Well,  there is nothing wrong with the accomplishment culture and hustle culture, we can't all afford to call it quits , can we?

Something feels abit off for Rachel, but she quickly dismissed it. She she thought to herself, Well, there is nothing wrong with the hustle culture, she scrolled through her email on her phone and kept refreshing her email, in case someone would send her emails at 3am. She needed to reply to them.

She on the lights to take a photo of her home office to post it on her socmed with hashtags #hustle #embracethegrind #chasethedream . Because when you snooze, you lose.

We are all stuck in an endless rat race, fetishizing accomplishments and indulging in toxic positivity. We hypnotise ourselves with staying unrealistically positive despite the unfair circumstances and blatant discriminations. You must think of the bright side! Nothing is too difficult if you put your mind to it!

But we all know deep down that failures and successes are part of life. We all have good times and bad times. Don't be so hard on yourself.

This mindset was helpful for me especially when I have reached a significant milestone: Remember that whatever situation you find yourself in -- this too shall pass.

Celebrating a success/accomplishment and feeing on top of the world? This too shall pass.

Feeling like a failure? This too shall pass.

Feeling stuck? This too shall pass.

No feeling or situation is permanent. Relax, you'll be ok.
