Ever since Khairy Jamaluddin became a radio DJ, some people have been wondering if he’ll ever return to politics since his departure. Or… has he ever left?

In a recent podcast Keluar Sekejap, KJ spoke a lot about politics but 1 of the conversations he had was about his possible return to politics. Since there is a possibility, the question is now – Who will KJ join and rub shoulders with? His old friend Barisan Nasional (BN) or the opposition, Perikatan Nasional (PN)?

According to the former Minister of Health, the answer is surprisingly none of them. In fact, KJ did not deny the possibility of forming his own party, which has yet to be named. He said that if he’s going to join the existing parties, he might need to get used to their cultures and customs again but not if he forms his own party.

“If I form my own party, it’ll be based on my own terms & conditions.”

KJ clarified that he has never regretted his decision of joining UMNO in the past but couldn’t deny that it took some time for him to get used to the party, which sacked him a few months back.

KJ described the possibility of going back into politics as a rare 2nd chance.

“Not everyone has a 2nd chance and when we have it, especially after getting fired, we can try do things on our own terms,” KJ explained.

“I might lose but…”

Using Tun M’s party, PEJUANG as an example, KJ acknowledged that he might face failure in the General Elections. Regardless of the possibilities, he chose to stay optimistic and said failure in his self-formed party brings more satisfaction.

“I might lose like PEJUANG, which I’m sorry to say, people laughed because they lost their deposits. But maybe it’ll be more fulfilling because I do things on my own terms.”

KJ also equalised his move with former President of Pakistan, Imran Khan who used to form his own party back then.

“If we start with our own party, we have to brace ourselves for multiple failures. One day, who knows…”

You can listen to the full podcast below, or skip to the 56:00 mark if you want to hear only the talk about his possible return.

Fellow Malaysians, do you think KJ will eventually return to politics? Does he have your vote after he forms his own party?
