The significance of MYAEROSATU lies in accelerating the nation's goal to become the leading aerospace hub in Southeast Asia by fostering collaboration between industry players, policymakers, and academia. With less than 4 years remaining until 2030, MYAEROSATU acts as a catalyst to support MIGHT (Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology). In this context, MYAEROSATU provides a strong platform to bring together over 200 local and international aerospace companies, enhancing collaboration across the supply chain, including manufacturing, maintenance, repair & overhaul (MRO).

As a dedicated association (its 1st AGM was held in March 2025) with the elected 2025-2026 office bearers busy reaching out to all the interest group of professionals, scientists, academics, and corporate members in shaping the future of the Malaysian aerospace sector. Essentially, MYAEROSATU serves as a vital bridge for connecting industry, academia, and the government to ensure it remains competitive. The 2nd AGM is set to be held on 11 March, 2026.

What will matter for aerospace industry in 2026 and beyond? “Politics will be a constant meddler in aerospace, for good or bad. And airlines can do little about that other than be adaptable.” Pix: Adi

I am proud to be associated with & getting the trust from the active young and senior “Head honchos” of aviation industry in Malaysia as the Chairman of MYAEROSATU. I agree with them that “Global travel patterns have, with a few exceptions, returned to where we were. The air travel industry is enjoying consistently strong demand, near record profitability, increasingly stable operational performance & more visibility around major cost inputs such as fuel."

MYAEROSATU submits that ”What's urgently needed now are cohesive, collaborative and transparent initiatives that bring government heads, tourism & financing organizations together with airlines, airports and aerospace associations so we can all work together and tap into this new growth opportunity."

Zul (center) said "MYAEROSATU is an exciting association in which to be a leader & decision-maker. It's global, involves high technology and is important driver of aviation, at local & national." Pix: Dzul

There is a sense that aviation has arrived at a position of strength, and the industry is able to keep its forward momentum, even as it deals with problems both familiar & new. Whatever the reasons behind the current patterns, it should be welcomed and acted upon. The skies are not the limit for Malaysia.
