MyDigital Corporation and Petrosains are teaming up to bring digital literacy, AI awareness and STEM education to Malaysia’s indigenous communities as part of the Malaysia Digital 2030 (MD2030) Action Plan.

The collaboration started with an outreach programme at the Karnival Pendidikan Murid Peribumi Penan Peringkat Negeri Sarawak in Miri, where more than 200 students from the Penan, Iban, Kayan, Kenyah and Lun Bawang communities took part.

Through the programme, MyDigital introduced students to Rakyat Digital, a free digital learning platform that provides resources on digital skills, AI literacy and technology awareness. Petrosains also conducted its Science Show and hands-on STEM activities to encourage students to explore science and technology through interactive learning.

“Our collaboration with Petrosains represents a critical milestone in making digital and AI literacy universally accessible. By expanding our reach to the Orang Asli and indigenous segments, we are directly building the foundation for an inclusive digital ecosystem.

We are ensuring that no community is left behind in Malaysia’s digital transition. Through Rakyat Digital, we aim to equip every young Malaysian with the tools and confidence to thrive in a digital future,” – Adrian Marcellus, MyDigital Corporation CEO

Following the Sarawak programme, MyDigital and Petrosains plan to expand the initiative to more schools serving indigenous communities in Kelantan, Pahang and Johor, working together with the respective State Education Departments.

According to MyDigital, the initiative supports MD2030’s goal of building an inclusive AI nation by ensuring that digital skills and access to technology are extended beyond urban communities.
