Existing MyNIISe users must register for MyDigital ID by Wednesday to continue using the service at Johor’s main entry points, with new users required to register from tomorrow.

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysian citizens using the National Integrated Immigration System (MyNIISe) application must register for MyDigital ID by Wednesday to continue accessing the service at the Sultan Iskandar Building and Sultan Abu Bakar Complex.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) stated that new MyNIISe users will be required to register for MyDigital ID starting from Wednesday.

Existing users can still log in using their current method until the MyNIISe trial period ends on Feb 28, but only for the purpose of registering or renewing their MyDigital ID.

Travellers without a MyNIISe account can still use the MyBorderPass autogate, regular passport-scan autogates, or physical inspection counters for immigration clearance.

Registration for MyDigital ID will grant users access to additional MyNIISe functions to be introduced after the trial period concludes.

The system will later be expanded to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Bayan Lepas, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.

KDN explained that MyDigital ID acts as a secure digital key for logging into the MyNIISe application.

It verifies user identity accurately via the National Registration Department database without storing personal data in the app, preventing digital identity fraud.

The ministry said this ensures a secure login process and supports the implementation of digital immigration services.

“The MADANI Government remains committed to implementing the digitalisation of public services in a safe, phased and people-focused manner,” KDN stated.

This effort aligns with the government’s goal to strengthen public trust in digital services.

The MyNIISe application was first deployed on Sept 22 at the Sultan Iskandar Building and Sultan Abu Bakar Complex in Johor.

As of Dec 30, the application had recorded 599,967 downloads with 287,258 registered users.
