Mystery deepens as two bodies found in auctioned-off home are identified

  • Two of three bodies found inside a home in Burlington, Connecticut, by a new homeowner who purchased the property at a foreclosure auction earlier this month have been identified.
  • The state’s medical examiner named Sally Ann Cash and Brian Cash as two of the people whose skeletal remains were found inside the home on June 14, CT Insider reported. The third person has yet to be identified.
  • Sally Ann Cash, who would’ve been 54, owned the home with her husband Paul, and Brian, 22, was their son, according to the paper. Their cause and manner of deaths have not yet been released. The family bought the home in 2019 and the foreclosure process began last summer after the owners did not appear for court hearings.
  • Neighbors reported not seeing the home's residents "in years," and a "keep out" sign was noted on the property during the foreclosure process, despite its abandoned appearance.
  • The house sold at auction for $525,000, approximately $300,000 under its bank appraisal value.
