Manchester City defender John Stones has played down a public dressing down from manager Pep Guardiola.
Stones received an earful from his boss on the touchline during their 5-1 win over Atalanta in the Champions League.
City maintained their winning start in the group thanks to goals from Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling.
But Stones had some issues in the game that prompted ire from his manager.
"I had them [shin pads] on but I just needed to fix them up properly," the England star told BT Sport.
"Time is of the essence and that's what he wanted."
