BN candidate Naim Moktar vows to create a commercial hub in Kampung Paris 3 to centralise development and boost Kinabatangan’s economy.

KINABATANGAN: Barisan Nasional candidate Mohd Kurniawan Naim Moktar has pledged to develop a new commercial hub in the constituency if elected.

Popularly known as Naim Moktar, he said the plan focuses on transforming Kampung Paris 3 and the Sukau roundabout into a central economic centre.

He argued that centralised development is key to attracting investors and spurring local growth.

“Kinabatangan is vast and full of potential. Every area needs a commercial economic centre in order to grow,” he said.

Naim Moktar stated this would create more job opportunities, particularly for the youth.

The candidate outlined his vision after a community programme at the Kampung Paris 1 polling district.

The Kinabatangan by-election is a three-cornered contest involving Naim Moktar, Datuk Saddi Abdul Rahman of Warisan, and independent candidate Goldam Hamid.

It was triggered by the death of incumbent MP Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin last December.

Polling is scheduled for January 24, with early voting on January 20.
