TOH Puan Na'imah Abdul Khalid and four others filed a lawsuit in the High Court today against the Prime Minister, Inspector-General of Police and the government.
In a statement, the lawyers for the plaintiff said they were seeking, among others, a declaration that the investigation by the IGP and the government against the plaintiffs under section 124B of the Penal Code is unlawful and/or unconstitutional and/or tainted with bad faith and/or carried out with ulterior purposes and an abuse of statutory power.
Apart from Naimah, the other plaintiffs are Muhammed Amir Zainuddin Daim, Muhammed Amin Zainuddin Daim, Amir Zharif Abdullah, and Muhammad Nizamuddin Abdul Hamid.
“On Feb 27, the IGP announced that a probe was being carried out on ‘toppling the government’ by Bukit Aman’s classified crimes unit or D5 under Section 124B of the Penal Code.
“It is public knowledge that the so-called probe is being made against the widow of the late Tun Daim Zainuddin, her sons and two of her lawyers.
“Pursuant to this, those falsely accused have filed an application challenging the same at the Kuala Lumpur High Court via an Originating Summons dated March 6,” said Rajesh Nagarajan and Sachpreetraj Singh Sohanpal.
They said the suit was filed in the public interest, to challenge abuse of power and to put a stop to the false claims of a ‘Zionist plot’ to overthrow the government, now being peddled to the Malaysian public. – March 6, 2026
