PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak seeks to recuse Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat from the Federal Court panel hearing his appeal, Malaysiakini reports.

Najib’s lawyer Hisyam Teh Poh Teik informs the court that they have filed an application yesterday to recuse the Chief Justice from presiding over the former prime minister’s SRC appeal.

He added a copy of the application has been served to the prosecution.

Najib is appealing against the 12-year jail sentence and RM210 million fine that was imposed on him by Kuala Lumpur High Court Judge Datuk Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali for misappropriating RM42 million of SRC International money.
