PENAMPANG: BN was not involved in giving out Malaysian identity cards (ICs) to undocumented migrants in Sabah as claimed by PBS President Datuk Seri Dr Maximus J. Ongkili, said the coalition's Advisory Board Chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

When PBS was in the coalition before it left in 2018 after the 14th General Election, Najib said BN wanted such an issue to be resolved, which was why the coalition entrusted PBS leaders to address it.

“We (BN) are not involved in giving out ICs. We are not. Whatever happened in the past, we want it to be corrected. That is why we placed the PBS leaders to sort it out during my time," he said.

“But our emphasis now is to secure the borders of Sabah, strengthen its security and work towards development of Sabah which is the agenda of BN."

The former prime minister said this to reporters after delivering his talk at the BN Sabah Convention 2022 at ITCC Penampang, here, on Saturday.
