Supporters of Datuk Seri Najib Razak were left emotional outside the Kuala Lumpur High Court after the court ruled that the former prime minister will continue serving his prison sentence at Kajang Prison.

Earlier today, the High Court dismissed Najib’s bid to serve the remainder of his jail term under house arrest.

The decision effectively means that he will remain behind bars until his sentence is fully completed.

Judge Alice Loke Yee Ching delivered the ruling after reviewing arguments from both sides. She spent nearly an hour reading out the grounds of judgment in court.

Supporters react emotionally outside court

As news of the decision spread, emotions ran high among supporters gathered outside the court compound. Several were seen crying, while others appeared visibly shaken by the outcome.

Reported by Harian Metro, the mood outside the court was tense and heavy, with disappointment clearly written on the faces of those who had waited through the proceedings.

Supporters vow to continue backing Najib

One supporter was heard declaring that they would not stop until Najib is freed, a sentiment echoed by others who remained at the scene despite the unfavourable ruling.

Their reactions reflected strong loyalty and frustration following the court’s decision.

Supporters travelled from various states

It was understood that supporters had travelled from various states, including northern Peninsular Malaysia, to show their support. Some reportedly arrived by bus after setting off in the early hours of the morning.

With the High Court’s ruling, Najib will continue serving the remainder of his prison sentence at Kajang Prison until the end of his term.
