United are willing to meet Kim's 60m buyout clause, which comes into effect in the first two weeks of July.
However, ADL hopes to thwart United by offering Kim a new deal, which would include writing out the buyout clause.
The Telegraph says the defender has already been presented with fresh terms by the champions.
