Constable Ahmad Azza Fahmi Azhar, who was tragically killed in a “lone wolf” attack at the Ulu Tiram Police Station in Johor, was laid to rest at 6:43 PM on 18 May at the Kampung Poh Muslim Cemetery in Bidor. The somber ceremony honored the fallen officer with full Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) honors.

The coffin, bearing his remains, arrived at the cemetery at 6:35 PM, transported by a PDRM hearse. A ceremonial Slow March Movement accompanied the coffin's arrival. Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay led the solemn act of folding the Jalur Gemilang (national flag) that draped the coffin and handed it to the deceased officer’s father, Azhar Khaiden, symbolizing the nation’s tribute to Ahmad Azza Fahmi and his family.

Following this poignant moment, the body was lowered into the grave, and the burial was completed at 6:43 PM. The ceremony concluded with the recitation of the talkin, led by his uncle, Tajaruddin Hassan. The final farewell was attended by over 1,000 people, including family members, PDRM personnel, and local villagers, all paying their respects to the national hero.

Earlier in the day, the remains of Ahmad Azza Fahmi arrived at his residence in Kampung Poh Tambahan, Bidor, from the Johor Police Contingent Headquarters at around 6 PM. Funeral prayers were held, and approximately 500 family members and friends paid their last respects. The funeral procession included 17 personnel and an officer in ceremonial attire from the Tapah District Police Headquarters, received by the grieving family in a solemn atmosphere.

The tragic incident occurred at 2:45 AM yesterday, when Constables Muhamad Syafiq Ahmad Said, 24, and Ahmad Azza Fahmi, 22, were killed in the attack at the Ulu Tiram police station. Another officer, Corporal Mohd Hasif Roslan, was also shot but is reported to be stable after receiving treatment at Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI). Police have confirmed that the 21-year-old male suspect involved in the attack was shot dead during the incident.

Constable Ahmad Azza Fahmi's untimely death has left a profound impact on his community and colleagues, who came together to honor his bravery and dedication to his duty. His sacrifice is a somber reminder of the risks faced by law enforcement officers in their line of duty.
