
Harminder Singh Baweja, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni in Solan district, met with Governor Kavinder Gupta in Shimla on Monday. He thanked the Governor, who is also the Chancellor of the university, for granting him the opportunity to serve the institution and discussed its functioning and future vision. He assured the Governor of the university’s full commitment towards strengthening research, extension and academics.
Baweja also held discussions with the university’s statutory officers and the heads of various departments regarding their ongoing activities and future plans. He said that the university would make every effort to further strengthen its academic, research and extension programmes to attain greater heights and enhance its national and international standing.
He also met with the representatives of several associations, including the University Teachers Association and Non-Teaching and Technical Associations. He interacted with the members of all associations, listened to their concerns and assured them that a comprehensive road map would be prepared to address the issues faced by employees.
