Nearly 6,000 cops cast early vote in Kedah

ALOR STAR – A total 6,389 officers and personnel, including wives of policemen from Kedah, have completed their early voting for the state election.

Media spokesman for the Kedah police contingent, Alzafny Ahmad, said a total 710 officers and 5,906 personnel voted at the four voting channels this morning.

He said 153 others were wives of officers and personnel and also members of the general operations force from Bukit Kayu Hitam and Kulim.

“From the total, 875 were officers and personnel from the district police headquarters, in Kota Setar and Kedah police contingent who voted at the contingent HQ.

Other officers and personnel voted at the respective stations in their areas.

“Early voting is from 8am till 5pm today, involving a total 38 channels in the state and 21 early voting centres.

“The Kedah state election involves 36 state assembly seats,” he added. – Bernama, August 8, 2023
