
ALTERNATIVE “routes” in obtaining funds for development will benefit the State economy, said Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.
“I have suggested and the State Government has approved for us to explore new sources (of income) such as carbon trading. This will (surely) require conservation which is a global direction towards addressing climate change.
“But some non-governmental organisations (NGO) have confused the leaders and the people,” he said, when visiting the Sabah Fish Marketing Sdn Bhd (Safma) complex, here.
Jeffrey, who is also State Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry (Maffi) Minister, was commenting on the shortage of funds to upgrade which could be obtained through alternative methods.
