Kota Kinabalu: The pressing need to smoothen traffic flow and reduce congestion on the Kota Kinabalu-Ranau Road, especially during weekends and the holiday season, was one of the issues raised at the recent Tourism Industry Players Engagement Session 2024.
Malaysia Tourism Federation (MTF) President Datuk Tan Kok Liang said the relevant government agencies should seriously consider the implementation of a traffic management system to resolve the problem.
“Any measures should involve incentivising heavy vehicles to operate at off peak hours and educating drivers of heavy vehicles to refrain from driving in a convoy as this makes it difficult for other vehicles to overtake.
