Negeri Sembilan confirms sufficient stocks of festive essentials including beef, chicken, and coconuts, with a major subsidised beef sale planned for next week.

SEREMBAN: The supply of essential raw ingredients in Negeri Sembilan is sufficient ahead of the Aidilfitri celebration less than two weeks away, according to State Agriculture, Food Security and Cost of Living Committee chairman Jalaluddin Alias.

He said this includes the state government’s initiative to offer subsidised beef sales in conjunction with the Mantai Perdana programme next Wednesday, with no issues reported regarding the supply of goods such as beef, chicken, coconut milk and eggs.

“People do not need to worry as all necessities for Aidilfitri in the state are sufficient, and other items such as coconuts are also still widely available in stock,” Jalaluddin told Bernama.

He added that 18,000 kilogrammes of subsidised beef will be sold at below-market rates during the Mantai Perdana event, with each state constituency allocated 500kg for public purchase.

Coconut plantation operator Amir Mohamad, 56, confirmed that supplies from his Rembau farm are sufficient to meet community needs through the Syawal celebration.

“I have received more than 1,000 coconut orders throughout Ramadan leading up to the festive season, and supplies are still sufficient with the trees bearing fruit well this time,” he said.

Amir added that mature coconuts are sold at RM2.50 each, while young coconuts are priced between RM2 and RM2.80 depending on size, with traders still able to obtain stock from his Ulu Sepri plantation.
