SEREMBAN: The Negeri Sembilan State Government is ready to consider implementing work-from-home arrangements for its administration as a measure to reduce fuel consumption.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun (pic) said the state is currently collecting data on employees who reside outside Negeri Sembilan to determine the next steps.
“We are examining how many employees live outside Negeri Sembilan but work here,” he told reporters after chairing a state executive council meeting.
He added that a decision would be made as soon as possible if the number of out-of-state commuters is significant.
In a separate development, Aminuddin said the state’s seven major dams continue to maintain stable water levels despite the recent prolonged hot weather.
As the state Islamic Religious Affairs and Security Committee chairman, he also addressed religious matters.
He said 300 individuals have so far participated in guidance programmes conducted by the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Affairs Department.
These programmes aim to restore participants’ understanding of Islam in accordance with Ahli Sunnah Waljamaah teachings.
Aminuddin said the spread of deviant teachings has been actively monitored since 2020, with some groups operating covertly.
“Negeri Sembilan serves as a strategic route for such groups and as a stopover after they have been acted against in other states,” he said.
He added that 12 cases have been prosecuted in court to date.
The Negeri Sembilan Mufti Department has previously declared several teachings as deviant.
These include the anti-hadith group, Tapediri 65, Hizbut Tahrir, and Millah Abraham.
Aminuddin said the state government will continue to intensify monitoring and enforcement through JHEAINS.
This effort is to ensure any form of deviation in creed can be curbed at an early stage.
