
Negeri Sembilan PH aims to secure more than 20 state seats in the upcoming election, says DAP chairman Anthony Loke.
SEREMBAN: Negeri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan (PH) is targeting to win more than 20 state seats in the upcoming state election.
Negeri Sembilan DAP chairman Anthony Loke said the target was based on the state PH’s achievements in the 14th general election (GE14) by winning 20 state seats and forming the state government.
He said the party components were committed to playing a role in assisting their friends in PH to defend the state government and obtain a strong mandate from the people.
“The Negeri Sembilan DAP Committee meeting today discussed preparations for the Negeri Sembilan state election after the State Legislative Assembly was dissolved last Friday.
“We are ready to face the election and the target of Negeri Sembilan PH is to win at least more than 20 seats in this state election,” he said after chairing the Negeri Sembilan DAP Committee Meeting here today.
Loke, who is also the Member of Parliament for Seremban, said he would defend the Chennah state seat in this state election.
He also confirmed that all DAP state incumbents are ready to defend the 11 seats won by the party in the 15th state election.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun announced the dissolution of the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly effective June 5 to pave the way for the state election which must be held within 60 days.
The 2023 Negeri Sembilan state election saw PH and BN formed the state government after controlling 31 of the 36 state seats.
PH won 17 seats while BN secured 14 seats, while Perikatan Nasional (PN) won five seats.
Negeri Sembilan became the second state to dissolve the state assembly to make way for the state election after Johor did so on June 1.
