Neo-Nazi obsessed teenager jailed after she tried to behead barber with an axe

  • A neo-Nazi teenager, Alina Burns, has been jailed for over 15 years for attempting to behead a Kurdish barber with an axe in Bristol.
  • Burns, 19, attacked Mohammed Mahmoodi, 27, in August last year, motivated by her extreme right-wing ideology and desire to "kill all Jews and Muslims".
  • Bristol Crown Court heard Burns had been in contact with far-right groups, including Patriotic Alternative, and had expressed her extremist views online.
  • She pleaded guilty to attempted murder and three charges related to possessing bladed articles, with the judge accepting a terrorist motivation for the attack.
  • Mrs Justice Lambert sentenced Burns to 15-and-a-half years in custody, plus an additional four years on licence, deeming her a dangerous offender deeply entrenched in her abnormal belief system.
